Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan’s position on Palestine is categorical and unwavering, and added that the government is also playing an “active role” to guarantee the release of Pakistani citizens detained aboard the global freedom flotilla.
The prime minister made these comments during a telephone conversation with Jamaat-I-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday. Both leaders exchanged views on the crisis of the Middle East, the situation in Kashmir and the arrest of the Pakistani citizens by the Israeli authorities.
According to Prime Minister’s office, Shehbaz stressed the importance of an immediate high hostilities in Gaza, asking what he called the “innocent Palestinian massacre.” “Pakistan’s position on Palestine is categorical and unwavering. We have always raised our voice for our Palestinian brothers and sisters in each global forum, and we will continue to do so,” he said.

Reiterating the long data position of Pakistan, the Premier emphasized support for a solution of two states, with borders prior to 1967 and Al-Quds al-Sharif as the Palestinian capital.
He added that eight Muslim countries were making “active and concerted efforts” to ensure a high fire in Gaza. “We hope that these efforts will soon bear fruit, bringing peace and the long -awaited dream of an independent Palestinian state,” he said.
On the arrest of Pakistani aboard the world freedom flotilla, including former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, the prime minister said the government was playing an “active role” to guarantee its release.

“Pakistan does not recognize the Israeli State or have diplomatic relations with him. However, we are in constant contact with friendly countries and international organizations to ensure the safe return of our citizens detained by Israel,” he said, expressing his confidence that the Pakistani would be repatriated soon.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in Cashmiro, and the prime minister affirms the federal government’s commitment to “play his complete role” to guarantee peace in the region.
Meanwhile, in an X publication, Rehman confirmed his conversation with the prime minister, saying that he had urged the prime minister to “accelerate efforts” for the release and recovery of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan. He said that the prime minister informed him that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had assigned this responsibility.

Calling flotilla attack and “strongly condemnable” arrests, Hafiz Naeem emphasized that the matter was of national importance and was not limited to JI. The JI leader also said that he had transmitted to the prime minister of his party and the strong reserves of the Nation on the 20 Gaza points plan of US President Donald Trump.
“Pakistan must remain firm in the demand for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Pakistan should not support any plan that finally strengthens Israel,” he said.
In Kashmir, Rehman emphasized the need for the government to handle the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir with caution. “We remind the prime minister that Cashmiro loves Pakistan, and any irresponsible attitude on the part of the administration could damage both Pakistan and Cashmira, and provide an opportunity for the enemy to explode,” he said.
He urged the Government to solve the problem in a responsible manner through dialogue, while ensuring that the opinions of a few people do not represent the entire town of Kashmir.
