Rawalpindi:
A court of first instance postponed on Friday the hearing of a case about the alleged misuse of the rules of the state gift repository by former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, without procedures, due to the absence of one of his main advice.
The special central judge Shahrukh Arjemand resumed the hearing of the case in a courtroom inside the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi, where Imran and Bushra stop.
At the beginning of the hearing, BarrĂster Sallman Safdar associated informed the court that defense lawyer Qausain Faisal Mufti was not right.
The Court expressed its discontent for the repeated absences of the defense lawyer and issued a written order making it clear that more excuses would not be interwoven. He ordered that the case will be heard on a day to day until the final judgment.
The order pointed out that the defense had not provided any medical history about MUFTI’s disease, which prevented the interrogation of the prosecutor’s last witness, Nab Mohsin Haroon officer.
He noted that similar postponements were also taken in previous audiences. He ordered the defense lawyers to complete the interrogation of the last prosecution witness at the next hearing on October 6.
