Google has launched a series of new tools for Jules, its AI coding agent designed to help developers generate code, fix errors and test, all hoping to make tool AI even easier to use.
The Director of Product Management of Google Labs, Kathy Korevec, shared the changes in a blog post, including the launch of Jules Tools, a new command line interface (CLI) and a new API.
Korevec said the changes reflect the company’s commitment to improve both Jules and the production of developers, with a series of other smaller improvements that are already in the hands of developers.
Google described Jules’s tools as a new “light” cli to take Jules directly to the terminal. “It is the easiest way to talk with Jules in Chat to run with him in his real workflow,” Korevec wrote.
Even more powerful will be the ability to open Jules to third -party work systems and flows through the API, which has just opened.
Korevec said that the two new improvements focus on making Jules accessible in more locations, however, the previous ads focused on improving their reliability.
Recent changes consult developers capable of calling specific files in the chat to add more context, while Jules also remembers user preferences for a more personalized approach.
The changes occur only two months after Jules launched publicly, driven by Google’s Gemini 2.5 model. Google boasted that thousands of developers participated in the beta stage, but it is not clear how many users won in the last two months.
The same three plans remain available, including a free level with support for up to 15 tasks per day. Pro and Ultra include 100 and 300 tasks per day, as well as more concurrent tasks and priority access to newer models.
