“It is not the plan we support,” he says while defending Pakistan’s position

Islamabad:

The 20 -point Gaza Peace Plan presented by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, this week does not align with the draft proposed by a coalition of Arab countries and other Islamic countries, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar.

However, delivering a political speech on the floor of the National Assembly on Friday, GIV clarified that eight Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have backed Trump’s plan, considering it as the only viable option to stop the spill of blood in progress in Gaza under current circumstances.

The president of the United States announced the 20 -point Gaza Peace Plan along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, which was immediately received by several countries, including Pakistan. However, later, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, issued a separate joint statement that clarifies the position of the block.

Ishaq Dar, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, tried to placate the opposition and critics by providing information on rear door conversations and other efforts to end the Gaza conflict. He also confirmed that the plan presented by Trump was not the one that “we (the eight Islamic countries)” had supported.

Dar declared that after Trump-Nananyahu’s press at the White House, he received a message from his Saudi counterpart, who informed him that “although many aspects of Trump’s proposed draft have been accepted, there are some points in which more discussions with him are necessary.”

The position of the Saudi Foreign Minister was that at that time they had two options: either they oppose the draft of 20 Trump points and give Israel an excuse to spill more blood in Gaza, or suggest that the Muslim and Arab countries issue a joint statement. This statement, he said, should be registered and also sent to the Trump administration.

In the Assembly, Dar also read the joint statement that, according to him, included points such as the solution of two states to the conflict and the complete retirement of Israel de Gaza occupied. The statement also stated that the West Bank would be considered part of Gaza.

According to him, the joint statement demanded a high immediate fire in Gaza, the reconstruction and complete withdrawal of the Israeli forces of Gaza.

“Only we are not in a position to stop this war. On this matter, even the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the United Nations and the Security Council have failed. If we try to forge a path to follow, it should be welcome,” said Dar.

In response to criticism about why the prime minister welcomed Trump’s plan despite not reflecting the opinions of Muslim countries, he replied: “It was not expected that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had no divine forecast to know that the 20 -point Plan of President Trump differs from the one we had backed. As soon as we reviewed the Draft, we immediately issued our own statement.”

The declaration of DAR arrived at a time when opposition parties in Pakistan criticize the government’s support for Trump’s draft over Gaza. The Foreign Minister also emphatically declared that Pakistan was not going to be part of any Abraham agreement or recognized Israel.

Dar also reported the National Assembly of “Active Commitment of Pakistan” during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He highlighted the stunning statement of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Palestine, Jammu and Kashmir, Climate Justice, reform of global financial systems and the urgency of sustainable development.

Dar also stressed the extensive diplomatic reach of Pakistan, participation in high -level events and side bilateral meetings, the constructive role in the progress of peace efforts and the defense of principles of the rights of the Palestinian people and puppy.

He reiterated the consistent position and principles of Pakistan: the solution of two states is the only viable path to a fair and lasting peace, through the establishment of a contiguous, independent and sovereign state of Palestine based on the borders prior to 1967, with Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.

He condemned the illegal interception of the Global Sumud flotilla for the Israeli occupation forces, qualifying a flagrant violation of the international maritime law and the humanitarian principles.

He assured the Chamber that Pakistan is actively making diplomatic efforts to guarantee the safe safety and return of his nationals on board.
