Both tracks at Munich airport closed on Friday night for the second time in less than 24 hours after the drones were seen again, which led dozens of deviated or canceled flights and extended to about 6,500 passengers, authorities said.

Early Saturday morning, the airport said that its programmed opening of the 5 am had been delayed due to drone sightings, advising passengers to communicate with their airlines.

“German flight operations RESTRICTED FLIGHT OPERATIONS at Munich airport as a precautionary measure due to unconfirmed drone sightings and suspended them until further notice,” said a statement on the airport website.

In a later update, the airport said that 23 flights, 12 flights to Munich and 48 canceled or postponed exits were diverted.

“As in the previous night, the airport and the airlines were in charge of the passengers,” he added. “Camp beds, blankets, drinks and snacks were delivered.”

The night before, the captain of a plane bound for London whose departure was canceled told the passengers that the clues had been closed “due to drone sightings near the take -off and landing tracks” and that the police helicopters were high.

The airport website showed that due arrivals had been diverted from 8.35 pm local time (1835 GMT).

Munich’s airport was closed for several hours on Thursday afternoon and in the small hours after non -confirmed drone sightings that interrupted dozens of flights.

European aviation has been repeatedly thrown into chaos in recent weeks by drone sightings that some authorities have blamed Russia. The Kremlin has denied any participation.

The German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt promised the earliest Friday so that the legislation is easier for the police to ask the military to shoot the drones.
