Two coaches of different athletes competing in the World Athletics Championship of the current world suffered injuries while attacked by stray dogs in New Delhi, India.

According to the reports of the Indian media, the incident occurred on Friday morning during the heating session when street dogs suddenly attacked Dennis Mwanzu, the fencing coach of Kenya and Meiko Otomatsu, Japan’s assistant coach.

Kenya’s coach suffered a bleeding leg wound caused by dog ​​bites, according to Indian media reports. Both coaches were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where they received initial medical treatment.

The authorities have not yet responded to the incident or measures described to avoid similar attacks in the future.

The World Athletics Championship for 2025 will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from September 27 to October 5.

The twelfth edition of the World Championship for Athletics has more than 1,000 athletes competing in different events.
