Lahore: Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the Munir Marshal on Saturday for his exceptional leadership during Pakistan’s military confrontation with India in May of this year.

Going to the National Security and War Course 2026 at CM House in Lahore, Maryam said the nation remained indebted to the sacrifices of the Armed Forces.

“I would like to congratulate the armed forces of Pakistan and also the forces of the friendly countries of the historical victory of [operation] Bunyan-Mou-Marshus, “he said.

CM Maryam was the opinion that Pakistan presented himself as a proud country due to the success of the operation.

He also praised the Munir Army Chief Marshal for his leadership skills during Pakistan’s response to India’s aggression in May.

“I would like to congratulate and praise the exceptional leadership of the field marshal also in times of war,” he said.

However, the CM of Punjab emphasized the importance of a stable and progressive internal front for national security.

“The internal weak front is a breeding ground for all evils. If the country is weak from the inside, even if there is no external threat, it raises a serious threat to national security,” he said.

Citing the creation of Bangladesh in 1971, CM Maryam said the conflict within the country was dangerous for Pakistan’s national security.

When reflecting on recent floods, Punjab Prime Minister praised the efforts of his ministers and the provincial administration for taking appropriate measures to safeguard people throughout the province.

“My first priority is the rehabilitation of the victims of floods, with all the resources deployed for the rehabilitation operation,” he said.

The CM of Punjab declared that his government assured the provision of three meals a day for people affected by floods, together with medical facilities throughout the province.

Recent floods, which severely damaged infrastructure and agriculture throughout the country, resulted in economic losses that amounted to RS371 billion.

Sudden floods and torrential rains also charged more than 1,000 lives throughout the country, said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Of the total of 1,006 deaths, Punjab registered 304 deaths, including 110 children, 143 men and 51 women.
