Prince William has apparently issued a strong warning in the last video statement, issued by the Palace to announce the important development.
The Palace launched the video of Prince William saying: “We could not be more proud to present the finalists of the Earthshot 2025 prize.”
In the video, Prince William warns: “I sat under this oak five years ago, shortly after launching the Earthshot award. The planet, the only home we have, needed our help, since the scientists made it clear that we had to make significant changes by 2030”.
“At that time, a decade felt a long time. George was seven years old, Charlotte Five and Louis Two; their idea in 2030 felt far from life,” says Prince William and adds: “But today, in the middle of this critical decade, 2030 feels very real.”
The future King continued: “The Earthshot award was founded because this decade matters.”
The Prince of Wales also warned that “2030 is a threshold by which future generations will judge us; it is the point where our actions, or lack of them, will have shaped the trajectory of our planet.”
When commenting on the publication, the real photographer Matt Porteous reacted: “Incredibly inspiring sir, his voice and the work he is doing with the most inspiring people on Earth is the change of play.”
