Islamabad:
Foreign Ministers from eight Muslim-Jordania countries, United Arab Emirates (EAU), Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, on Sunday welcomed the steps announced by Hamas in response to the proposal of 20 points of US President Donald Trump to put the War of the Gaza.
Hamas announced the release of hostages and the beginning of negotiations on a lasting peace agreement. In a joint statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said here that “they welcomed the steps taken by Hamas” and “the call of President Trump to Israel to immediately stop the bombing and begin the implementation of the exchange agreement.”
They expressed appreciation for Trump’s “commitment to establish peace in the region”, describing developments as a “real opportunity” to achieve a high and sustainable fire and address the terrible humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The ministers also welcomed Hamas’ announcement that he was ready to deliver the administration of Gaza to a Palestinian Transition Administrative Committee composed of independent technocrats. They emphasized the urgent need to launch negotiations on the implementation mechanisms for the proposal and address all related aspects.
The statement reiterated the joint commitment of the countries to work towards the immediate end of hostilities in Gaza, guarantee delivery without obstacles to humanitarian aid, prevent the displacement of the Palestinians and avoid any measure that endangers civilians.
He also requested the release of hostages, the return of the Palestinian authority to Gaza, the unification of Gaza and the West Bank, and a complete Israeli retreat that leads to reconstruction and a path to a fair peace based on the solution of two states.
The joint statement occurred in the midst of a growing regional and international approach in the Gaza Peace Plan of 20 points recently from President Trump, whose objective is to stop the two -year conflict and establish a framework for Gaza’s governance and reconstruction.
According to the details published by US officials, the 20 -point plan includes a high immediate fire, the launch of all hostages within 72 hours and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza to previously agreed lines.
It also requires the creation of an international stabilization force to monitor the truce, the disarmament of Hamas and the establishment of a technocratic transition administration for Gaza under international supervision.
The proposal provides that a large -scale reconstruction program entitled “New Gaza”, which is funded by international donors, while excluding Hamas from any role of future government. In the long term, the plan promises a gradual movement towards the Palestinian self -government and a political settlement of two states.
While Israel has conditionally accepted the plan, Hamas said on Friday that he was prepared to cooperate in key provisions, including the release of all captives and final hostilities, provided that Israel stops its military operations and allows negotiations to continue.
However, several Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have maintained that the American version of the plan differs from a draft discussed previously between the Arab and Islamic states. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Parliament on Friday that “changes were made in the draft without consultation.”
The Foreign Minister added that, although Pakistan supports all efforts to end the war, “the plan must align with the principles and proposals previously agreed by Muslim countries.”
Diplomatic sources said that Pakistan and other regional states were now focusing on ensuring that the implementation of any agreement guarantees unrestricted humanitarian access, no displacement of Palestinians and the return of the Palestinian authority to Gaza.
The Trump Peace Plan, presented during meetings outside the UN General Assembly last month, is the most ambitious international initiative since the beginning of the Gaza War of 2023. The mediators of Egypt and Qatar are expected to facilitate indirect conversations between Israel and Hamas in the coming days to finish the practical steps towards a high fire and the exchange of prisoners.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Sunday that Senator Mushtaq Ahmad, who was aboard the Sumud Aid flotilla to Gaza, is under the custody of Israeli forces but is sure and good health.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the spokesman said that Pakistan was in contact with his international partners to guarantee “rapid safety and repatriation” of his citizens, which were “illegally arrested by the Israeli occupation forces.”
“Through the diplomatic channels of a friendly European country, we have confirmed that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is under the custody of Israeli occupation forces and is safe and of good health,” the statement said.
The spokesman added that, according to local legal procedures, Senator Mushtaq would appear before a court, after which his deportation orders were expected. “After the issuance of deportation orders, your repatriation will be facilitated on a quick basis,” said the statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan had already coordinated the safe return of several citizens who landed before the flotilla. He also expressed “deep gratitude to the fraternal countries that helped in the repatriation of our citizens.”
“The Pakistan government is still committed to the protection of all its citizens abroad and anticipates the completion of this repatriation process in the coming days,” the statement added.
The Sumud Flotilla, which carries international activists and humanitarian aid, was intercepted by Israeli forces earlier this week while trying to break the blockade in Gaza. Among the detainees were several foreign citizens, including Pakistani, whose release and repatriation are now being carried out through diplomatic channels.
