iOS 26.1 It should make it harder to sleep through alarms

  • The second beta iOS 26.1 is now available
  • Includes a redesigned alarm screen that requires sliding to turn off alarms
  • Other changes include custom training and a lever to automatically download security improvements

Losing an alarm is never fun, and with the update of iOS 26.1, it seems that Apple will reduce the possibilities of doing so.

The second beta iOS 26.1 is now available, and Macrumors has discovered that, among other things, the alarm screen design changes, so instead of having to play a button to put out the alarm, it must slide on the screen.

It is a change that should mean that it should be more awake to turn off the alarm, and it also means that it will not accidentally turn it off if you simply wanted to postpone it (whose action was and remains a simple touch).

This same slide design is also being used by timers in iOS 26.1 Beta 2; It is probably less necessary there, but it could still be useful and maintains the consistent interface.
