Islamabad:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Tuesday that the Establishment Division and the Ministry of Home Affairs have approved the filling of 35 vacant Patwari posts in the federal capital, but the Ministry of Finance is yet to grant its approval.
During the hearing, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani expressed hope that the government would fill the vacant posts before the next hearing. The case pertains to the employment of private individuals in Patwarkhanas (revenue offices) in Islamabad.
Appearing in court, state advocate Abdur Rehman presented reports from the Establishment Division and the Ministry of Home Affairs, confirming that approval had been given to fill the 35 vacant posts.
Justice Kayani commented that the Court expected the Ministry of Finance and the Government to expedite the process, noting that delays in basic administrative matters were unacceptable.
Expressing his displeasure at private individuals supposedly working in government offices, the judge said: “It seems that neither the secretaries nor anyone else are capable of handling this matter.”
