Would you like to be on the court at a Lakers game? Turn your Vision Pro back on and open the NBA app

  • Select Los Angeles Lakers games will stream on Apple’s Immersive on Vision Pro
  • The games will be recorded with Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras
  • Broadcasts begin in early 2026 via NBA and Spectrum SportsNet apps

Apple has already released a good amount of immersive content filmed specifically for the Vision Pro. You can get up close to Bono, rock out to Metallica, or take a peek behind the Yankee Stadium curtain (even if it hurts a little to type it out today after last night’s game) or stand next to a herd of rhinos.

We’ve seen a wide range of content, but I was hoping for something live, specifically live sports. Seeing that Apple TV+ Friday Night Baseball Capturing games with the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max gave me some hope and now we have a confirmed launch. In what could be the start of something new, select Los Angeles Lakers games will be streamed live on Apple Immersive for Vision Pro next season.

It’s not every game, but those that are streaming (a $3,500 Spatial Computer exclusive) will have access to views that put you right in the middle of the action. Special cameras that support the format will be installed courtside and under each basket to give you perspectives that extend the immersion. Lakers games will be recorded with a special version of Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine Immersive Live camera.

In my opinion, this seems like Apple is fulfilling a promise, or at least starting to do so, as even in my first demo with the Vision Pro, I was able to enjoy incredible close-up shots of a wide range of sports.
