The body of a teenager, Abdul Ghani, 14, was found hanging in a house in Arafat town, north of Nazimabad, within the jurisdiction of Taimuria police station. The boy reportedly committed suicide due to distress over academic difficulties at school.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities. SHO Taimuria, Sub-Inspector (SI) Qaiser Imtiaz, informed that the deceased, a class seven student, used a dupatta (scarf) to hang himself due to academic stress.
The deceased’s uncle, Arshad, refused to take further legal action. Thus, after carrying out the necessary procedures, the body of the deceased child was handed over to his family.
Man shoots himself in suspected suicide
A resident of house number B-401 in Saima Arabian Villas, within the jurisdiction of Manghopir Police Station, was found dead with a gunshot wound.
The body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where he was identified as Iftikhar Ahmed, 50. Initial investigations revealed that the deceased’s family heard a gunshot from a room, ran towards it and found Ahmed dead.
Police stated that the incident appears to be a suicide, however, further investigation will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
