- Apple just teased: “Something powerful is coming”
- Teaser shows a MacBook Pro in development, likely a new M5-powered model
- While the M5 chip is almost certain, a new color option could be coming for Apple’s Pro laptops
While Apple CEO Tim Cook didn’t offer the teaser this time around, as he did with the sky blue MacBook Air and iPhone 16e, the Cupertino-based company’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak, basically confirmed that at least one new Mac is on the horizon.
A post on Now count the number of ms you used and remember what the Roman numeral V is, and we’re pretty sure this is a direct tease from an M5-powered MacBook Pro.

As for when exactly “Coming Soon” means, given the previous teasers Apple posted on social media, we would expect this to be released later this week, potentially tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Also in recent years, Apple has used October to launch new Macs, and in 2024 it introduced new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, a redesigned Mac mini, an improved Mac Studio, and a new iMac, all featuring the M4 chip. Apparently, we’ll at least get a new Mac, which appears to be a powerful variant of the M5-powered MacBook Pro.
It’s not a big surprise, given Apple’s October release history and, more recently, rumors that the M5 Macs will debut soon. Until now, rumor mills have expected Apple to keep the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros running, thicker and full of ports, but change the more powerful chip under the hood.
The MacBook Pro M5 will likely come as a base model, as well as Pro and Max variants, that is, if Apple follows its existing naming convention.
Based on the trailer, it looks like the MacBook Pro in question could have a hint of blue, so while it’s not as pastel or fluid as the sky blue MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro could usher in a deeper navy blue.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for Apple to make it official, but with a tease from none other than Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, I have a feeling we’ll see a new Mac launch imminently. And TechRadar will be the place to be, as we’ll break it all down as it comes.
