- Porsche and Smeg collaborate on a new range of kitchen appliances
- It features a refrigerator and a coffee maker inspired by the Porsche 917 KH.
- It was the car that secured Porsche’s first overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Smeg, maker of some of the best coffee makers we’ve tested here at TechRadar, has teamed up with Porsche designers to create a set of bold appliances that will bring a touch of European style to your kitchen.
The highlight of the collection is a refrigerator and one of Smeg’s best bean coffee machines, both in bright red, with details inspired by the Porsche 917 KH in Salzburg colors. It is a tribute to the car that achieved Porsche’s first overall victory at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The limited edition 1950s style fridge costs £3,499 and the matching coffee machine costs £1,399.95. The coffee maker is very similar to the Smeg BCC13 that received five stars last year, but with a manual steam wand so you can control the way the milk is textured yourself. Only 1,970 units of each device will be manufactured.
If your kitchen budget doesn’t stretch that far, there are two other sets of appliances, one in a color called Shade Green and another called Carrera White, at a more affordable price. Each set includes a toaster, kettle, blender and refrigerator, with a metallic finish, matte black accents and Porsche branding.
The 60cm fridge is priced at £2,999, the kettle is £299.95, the mixer is £399.95 and the toaster is £299.95. They are all available to buy now directly from the Smeg online store.
