Government extends deadline to book private Hajj

Prospective pilgrims can now apply until October 22, as there are still 4,500 places available.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has extended the deadline for submitting applications under the Private Hajj Scheme 2026 to October 22, replacing it from the previous deadline of October 17, Pakistan’s Associated Press reported.

According to a notification issued by the ministry on Friday, all Munazzim (Hajj group organizers) have been directed to complete the booking process for pilgrims within the extended deadline in accordance with the Hajj Policy and Plan 2026.

Of the 60,000 places allocated for private reservations, 55,500 applications have already been received, so there are still 4,500 places available, the ministry highlighted.

A ministry spokesperson has urged pilgrims to check the list of approved Hajj operators available on the ministry’s official website before making any payments.

Applicants were also advised to deposit Hajj fees only into the official bank accounts of approved companies and to ensure they received both a copy of the Hajj agreement and a computerized receipt upon completing their booking.

The extension aims to help those who were not able to finalize their applications within the previous deadline and ensure transparency in the private Hajj booking process.

Earlier, the ministry had announced that the booking process for the Private Hajj Program 2026 would close at midnight on October 17, urging all pilgrims to complete their bookings within the stipulated time frame.

Ministry spokesman Muhammad Umar Butt said 44,000 pilgrims finalized their bookings under the private Hajj scheme, against the total quota of 60,000 allocated for 2026.

He emphasized that as per the approved policy for Hajj, completing the booking process before the deadline is mandatory for all private Hajj applicants.

The ministry advised prospective pilgrims to make their arrangements only through Hajj operators approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

Additionally, applicants who have already completed their bookings can review and verify their details through the ministry’s website www.mora.gov.pk or through the Pak Hajj 2026 mobile application. The ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, safe and efficient process for all pilgrims.
