- New Amber Silk color for Airwrap and other Dyson hair care devices
- Combines copper, champagne pink and burgundy touches.
- It’s a limited edition, available to buy now.
Bold and bright are the watchwords of many of Dyson’s products, but recently the brand has taken a more subtle and elegant route with its haircare range. It’s in that vein that we now have ‘Amber Silk’, a new limited edition colorway available on Airwrap and other Dyson hair care devices.
It’s marketed as a festive color scheme, but it’s a far cry from the flashy red and green. Think less “Santa’s grotto” and more “overpriced drinks party.” Amber Silk has a matte metallic finish and combines three muted shades, each inspired by a different element of the festive season.
The main color is ‘warm copper’, an orange hue inspired by “the glow of fire embers” and, less obviously, “the enduring beauty of the season.” It is combined with “pale pink champagne”, a kind of dark pink with obvious festive connections. Finally, continuing with the alcohol theme, there are mulled wine-inspired “toasted burgundy” accents on the buttons and switches.
While I love the tropical blue and orange of my own Airwrap, I can’t help but be won over by Dyson’s newer, sleeker color options. At the beginning of the year, the brand released the songs Jasper Plum and Red Velvet & Gold; the latter of which is perhaps more obviously festive than the new Amber Silk, but that’s by the way. Since then, more options have been added for some stylists, and all of them are firmly in the “sleek, muted” color camp.
Dyson makes some of the best styling tools on the market, but they come with a hefty price tag. The more subtle color options feel more premium than the all-out tropical shades that came before, and perhaps suit your target audience a little better.
You can choose the Amber Silk color scheme on most Dyson hair care devices, including the Airwrap id and its new, more powerful sibling, the Airwrap Co-anda2x, the Airstrait wet-to-straight hair straighteners, and the Supersonic Nural and Supersonic r hair dryers. It’s widely available – take a look at Dyson US, Dyson UK or Dyson Australia stores.
Although it’s described as a limited edition, I suspect it will be around for a while if it proves popular – the previous limited edition colors were released in January and are still available to purchase.
