- An unboxing of the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 has appeared
- It could be released in the coming days and weeks.
- The gimbal succeeds the Osmo Mobile 7 and Osmo Mobile 7P
It seems that the successor to the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P is imminent, although there is nothing official yet. In fact, the launch of the Osmo Mobile 8 is so close that a leaked unboxing video has appeared on the Internet.
The video comes courtesy of Camera Joint on TikTok (via Igor Bogdanov) and shows the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 from all angles. We can also see it in operation with a phone connected, following people as they move around the room.
There is a built-in LED light here and the ability to charge a phone, as in the current model. The top of the gimbal is also now much more extendable, so you can use it in a wider variety of positions.
It’s hard to predict what other updates we might see. The obvious area for improvement in a camera gimbal is battery life, but the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P and Osmo Mobile 7 are no slouches in that regard, both offering around 10 hours between charges.
Dates and prices
Как-то так 🙂 Ждем следующим Neo 2😉 https://t.co/cilgS46nsJOctober 18, 2025
We haven’t heard much about previous leaks about the DJI Osmo Mobile 8, other than rumors that it will be out in November. According to insiders, we could also see the DJI Neo 2 and the Mic 3 Pro at the same time.
Of course, price will be crucial. The DJI Osmo Mobile 7P launched at a starting price of $149 / £135 / AU$219, while the lighter Osmo Mobile 7, without module support, first went on sale for $89 / £85 / AU$159.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is more likely to be priced closer to the more expensive of those two prices, given the lighting and AI tracking capabilities. The fact that an unboxing is now available suggests that the boxes have already arrived at retailers.
This will be just one more release in what has already been a hectic 2025 for DJI. Among the products that the company has already launched we have the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, the DJI Osmo 360 and the DJI Mini 5 Pro.
