Karachi restaurants caught using dead chicken meat

More than 80 kilograms of unhygienic chicken meat seized, two suspects arrested during operation

Police have unearthed a shocking scandal in the city’s Moosa colony, where meat from dead chickens was allegedly being processed and supplied to fast food outlets, biryani stalls and hotels, posing a serious threat to public health.

According to Express News, the Gulberg police, on secret information, raided a warehouse near the railway junction in Moosa Colony on Sunday and seized over 80 kilograms of unhygienic chicken meat. Two suspects, Anwar, son of Idrees, and Kamal, son of Manan, were arrested.

The raid occurred after receiving a tip about dead birds stored in the warehouse. Acting on the information, law enforcement officials in coordination with the Sindh Food Control Authority (SFCA) launched an operation and recovered spoiled meat and dead whole chickens from the premises.
