  • COAS says that the people of Balochistan are the real strength of Pakistan.
  • Highlights federal and provincial efforts to improve the socioeconomic situation.
  • The empowerment of young people for provincial development stands out.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday said that Indian-backed proxies Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij were propagating anti-people and anti-development agendas in Balochistan with malicious intentions of perpetrating violence.

“All necessary measures are being taken to hunt down these terrorists and rid the province of this menace,” the Field Marshal said while interacting with the participants of the 17th Balochistan National Workshop at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.

During his speech, COAS Munir said that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, endowed with vibrant, resilient and patriotic people who are its true wealth.

He highlighted the development initiatives of the federal and provincial governments aimed at improving the socio-economic landscape of the province through a people-centred approach, and emphasized the need to realize its immense economic potential.

Recognizing the constructive role of civil society, particularly in engaging and empowering youth, he underlined its critical role in ensuring sustainable development and countering political agendas created for the long-term prosperity of Balochistan.

The Field Marshal reiterated that while Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity, direct or indirect, will receive a firm and decisive response to safeguard the lives and well-being of its citizens.

The workshop concluded with a candid and interactive question and answer session between the army chief and the participants.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, which share a porous border with neighboring Afghanistan, were the worst affected by terror incidents and accounted for more than 96% of the total violence across the country.

Balochistan, according to a report issued by the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), witnessed at least 25% of the total deaths (230) and incidents (85) related to violence.

During his latest visit to Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir highlighted the importance of joint civil and military efforts to address the challenges faced by the people.
