Achakzai criticizes Shehbaz government and calls for unity

ISLAMABAD:

PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai has said the “fake” government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is pushing the country towards anarchy.

Addressing a press conference alongside MWM leader Allama Nasir Abbas, Achakzai said the country is at a critical juncture but the rulers are indifferent to the dire situation. “Every day between 20 and 30 people are shot dead in the country, freedom of expression is prohibited, even in the assembly, and we are about to bomb Afghanistan.

He called for convening a round table with the attendance of army officers and members of the judiciary to address national crises. “It is our responsibility to protect the region from becoming a battlefield. Fortunately, China is our neighbor and friend. It has good relations with Afghanistan. With its good offices, Afghanistan should become a cradle of peace instead of a center of instability,” Achakzai said.

He also criticized the military’s role in exploiting the country’s mineral-rich regions. “Wherever minerals are discovered, the army exercises its control. The people of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab must participate, and the locals must receive their fair share of these resources,” Achakzai added.

Responding to Achakzai’s criticism, PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi said Achakzai is pursuing an anti-Pakistan agenda. At a time when Pakistan gave a tit-for-tat response to cross-border aggression, it expresses sympathy for the aggressors. At his age, he blatantly spreads lies.

PML-N information secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb also regretted Achakzai’s statement and said a senior politician was not expected to speak in contrast to reality.

Achakzai is a witness to the fact that Shehbaz Sharif always refused to get rid of his elder brother Nawaz Sharif. He rejected the offer of prime minister three times, but did not betray his brother. Not only did he strongly support his brother, but he also languished in prison for him.
