
Reba McEntire reflects on her precious relationship with her late stepson, Brandon Blackstock.
The 70-year-old actress, who was previously married to the late talent manager’s father, Narvel Blackstock, spoke candidly about her sweet memories with her stepson.
For the uninitiated, Brandon passed away on August 7 after fighting a private battle with cancer for three years. He was 48 years old.
“My relationship with my stepson, Brandon Blackstock, was beautiful,” the doting stepmom said. “I absolutely loved that kid.”
“He came into my life, I guess he was 4. Then when Narvel and I got married, he was 13, 14,” she looked back.
He happy place The star went on to say, “Along with his mom and dad, I helped raise him, along with [step kids] Shawna and Chassidy. “They were my children.”
Recalling one of Blackstock’s sweet childhood memories, McEntire gushed, “He loved scaring people. We were in the Starstruck office.” [which was owned by Narvel] in Nashville and I was sitting at my desk and watching Penny Chubb [a Starstruck Entertainment employee] I walk to the ladies room and then here comes Brandon. He would hide behind the pillar.”
“Brandon is deeply missed, truly missed for his mischief and love of life. He brought joy to everyone who knew him and we will never forget him,” she added.
It is pertinent to mention that Blackstock also shared two children with his ex-wife, singer Kelly Clarkson.
