Various above The Sims 4 Streamers and content creators have abandoned the game’s EA Creator Network, citing EA’s proposed sale to Saudi-backed investors as the defining reason. This includes James Turner, lilsimsie, CarynandConnieGaming, Plumbella and more.
EA Creator Network is a program that provides early access to a broad set of games and updates, offers exclusive opportunities for content creation, and occasionally sets up sponsored content and other paid partnership work. Furthermore, many Sims 4 Creators use the Creator Code program that rewards streamers with a portion of sales of select products.
The Sims 4 Creator lilsimsie is just one of the high-profile streamers who recently posted on their YouTube channels and announced that they will be leaving all EA Creator Network programs and benefits. In a post from October 23, 2025, lilsimsie said:
“I have made the decision to withdraw from the EA Creator Network. I am hopeful that pressure from creators and the community can encourage EA leadership to reconsider the long-term impact of this sale and preserve the values that have made The Sims so beloved. This means I will no longer receive early access to The Sims packs and will not have a creator code.”
Another popular The Sims 4 Streamer Plumbella also posted on her YouTube channel, mentioning her thoughts on EA’s proposed sale:
“I hope the sale fails, and if it doesn’t, I hope those who stay put pressure on EA to maintain the level of inclusion that The Sims has always had.”
This news comes after EA’s proposed sale to Saudi-backed investors was announced on September 29, 2025. Under the proposed deal, a group of buyers, including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake and Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners, would buy the company for $55 billion (£41 billion).
The Saudi PIF aims to diversify Saudi Arabia’s income by investing in foreign companies and intellectual property. It is headed by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the controversial Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, accused by the CIA of ordering the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
EA is known as the publisher of highly successful franchises such as Battlefield, EA Sports FC 25and of course The Sims. News of the proposed deal has caused a stir throughout the gaming industry, with The Sims 4 Creators like James Turner and CarynandConnieGaming will now no longer be associated with the company in the future.
As for the future of these content creators, lilsimsie plans to focus his attention on other games not affiliated with EA: “I plan to start incorporating some other games that I think you might like here on this channel.”
Others, like James Turner, have made similar announcements: “I plan to change our approach to include more variety.” With a combined total of YouTube subscribers of 5.7 million, the four creators mentioned in this article certainly make up a good portion of the top names in Sims 4 content creation.
