NYT Strands Today (Game #604): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #604 are…
- DRAFT
- FILL OUT
- GRAPHITE
- CEDAR WOOD
- PENCIL SHARPENER
- ESPANGRAM: PENCILMEIN
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
I had trouble with today’s search, mainly because I had the wrong idea about what “The Writing” referred to.
After getting a lot of non-game words, I found ERASER and REFILL while circling the game, and the penny finally dropped. Seeing the word “pencil” and it not turning pale blue was an enigma. It took me finding a keyword, GRAPHITE, and then having just the spangram on the board to find it.
Until today I had never thought about the wood that pencils are made from, but since then I learned that they preferred CEDAR WOOD because it sharpens easily.
However, I have also discovered the heated debate over the future of pencils due to the unsustainability of cedar and the threat of plastic and springs.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Monday, October 27, Game #603)
- AMULET
- POTION
- CHARM
- WAND
- INCANTATION
- BOILER
- SPANGRAM: MAGICIAN
