Micron has revealed new steps in its plan to capture a significant share of the rapidly expanding high-bandwidth memory market.

The US semiconductor giant revealed during its fiscal first quarter 2025 earnings call that it plans to introduce HBM4 memory products in 2026, followed by HBM4E in 2027/2028 with 64GB and 2TBps parts designed for advanced data center applications. and artificial intelligence.

Highlighting the growing importance of HBM in the company’s plans, Sanjay Mehrotra, President and CEO of Micron, said: “The HBM market will show strong growth in the coming years. In 2028, we expect the total addressable market (TAM) ) of HBM will grow four times from the level of 16 billion dollars in 2024 and will exceed 100 billion dollars in 2030. Our TAM forecast for HBM in 2030 would be larger than the size of the entire DRAM industry, including HBM, in calendar 2024.”
