Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

First of all, what a treat to have a Halloween-themed board with orange and purple highlights and a spooky results grid. In Strands’ words: “Well done!”
This game was very much a case of trick or clue for me. I started out well, seeing SKULL and then FEMUR, but after seeing these and the third most obvious bone, FIBUM, I ran aground.
Luckily, I found a lot of non-game words in the pumpkin patch and the clues gave me ulna and radius and after getting the spangram I was able to dig up STERNUM and HUMERUS.
