Over Rs 42.5 crore recovered from arrested officials, FIA tells judge hearing case related to Ducky bhai’s wife
A local court on Friday extended the remand of six officials of the National Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case registered against them for accepting huge bribes and abuse of power.
The Federal Investigation Agency was ordered to produce the accused in court on November 3.
The case against them was registered on the complaint of Aroob Jatoi, wife of Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai.
The FIA produced the accused in handcuffs before Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo’s court after his earlier three-day remand had expired. The arrested officers include Additional Director Chaudhry Sarfraz, Deputy Director Shoaib Riaz, Ali Raza, Zawar, Yasir Gujjar and others.
The FIA submitted its investigation report, stating that approximately Rs 42.5 million has been recovered from the accused officials.

Defense lawyer Munir Bhatti argued that the FIA does not have evidence of a single transaction and alleged that the case was being unnecessarily sensationalized on social media, making a fair trial impossible.
He further argued that when a case becomes the subject of notifications of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the IGP of Punjab, a fair trial cannot be expected.
Meanwhile, the investigating officer informed the court that a separate investigation into assets beyond known means had also been initiated against the accused.
He stated that the agents are “highly trained” and that is why the interrogation is complex, since the FIA is examining their previous cases and details of their assets.
After hearing the arguments, the court approved an additional three-day remand and ordered the FIA to present the accused again on November 3.
