Apple’s teams will be hard at work on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max now that the iPhone 17 phones are now available, and a new leak suggests three new colors are being considered for the high-end iPhones next year.
The leak comes from well-known tipster Instant Digital (via MacRumors) and claims that brown, purple, and burgundy are the shades in dispute, although those names come from Google Translate and may not be the latest.
We’ve seen a purple iPhone before, most recently with the iPhone 14, but the other two, a coffee brown and a deep burgundy red, appear to be new options for Apple. However, we have no indication of what these colors will actually look like.
The tipster goes on to say that there will once again be no standard black iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max, like this year. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are available in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue.
Coming next year
We haven’t seen a ton of leaks and rumors about the iPhone 18 so far, but that’s to be expected considering the 2025 flagship iPhones were only unveiled in September. It seems likely that we will get the same four models in 2026, in addition to the iPhone 17e.
There has been talk that Apple will change its release schedule next year, so we may see the base iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 arrive in March, and then the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models will appear in September.
The goal, of course, would be to sell more iPhones, and having these launches spread out throughout the year could tempt more buyers to upgrade. According to unofficial sales data, the standard iPhone 17 is the best-selling of the four models launched in September.
Nothing will happen for at least a few months, and we can expect a few more rumors and leaks to appear during that time, such as the one saying that all four 2026 flagship iPhones will have the same amount of RAM.
