Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Rahim Yar Khan, where both leaders expressed a shared commitment to deepening economic, political and cultural relations.
The UAE President, who arrived at Rahim Yar Khan Airport, was received by Prime Minister Shehbaz, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and other officials.
The meeting focused on several key areas, including economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change and mutual global interests, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and its pivotal role in supporting Pakistan’s development, emphasizing Pakistan’s eagerness to expand cooperation in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure and skills development.
In return, President Sheikh Mohamed expressed the UAE’s keen interest in expanding ties with Pakistan, particularly in the mining, minerals and agriculture sectors.
He praised the progress of Pakistan’s economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz and noted that the country’s growing economic stability presents new opportunities for bilateral investment.
The President of the United Arab Emirates reiterated his country’s commitment to its long-standing partnership with Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of people-to-people connections and shared prosperity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the UAE for its continued support, particularly in humanitarian and development aid during critical times. Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to fostering peace and progress in the region, with emphasis on collaboration in priority sectors.
