A delegation of prominent Chinese investors has expressed interest in making investments in Punjab.
During a meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her satisfaction at seeing women investors as part of the Chinese delegation.
The prime minister met with the delegation before their departure for a visit to Brazil.
On the occasion he said that Punjab has immense investment potential. He added that for the first time, a ‘zero time to start’ policy had been introduced in Punjab to provide complete facilitation to investors. He said Punjab is going through one of the best phases in terms of investment opportunities.
He underlined that industrial zones and parks in Punjab offer excellent investment potential.
The prime minister said investors will also receive tax exemptions and import duty reliefs. He added that infrastructure, information technology and medical tourism present lucrative opportunities for foreign investment in the province.
He added that after his last visit to China, the Punjab government had introduced innovation in medical and other sectors.
He highlighted that the real estate and infrastructure sectors in Punjab could generate quick profitable returns, adding that the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) project would serve as a role model for infrastructure development in the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted that for the first time, more than 100,000 houses were built in 10 months.
He said that with the growth of the tourism sector, there had been a growing demand for construction of more quality hotels to facilitate tourists across Punjab.
He said that for the first time glass train and high-speed trains were being introduced in Punjab and a large area had also been allocated for setting up the largest medical district in the province.
He emphasized that business processes in Punjab had been completely shifted to an online system, adding that no files or documents were needed to start any business, and investors could easily apply and start their business instantly.
Senior officials of several Chinese companies expressed keen interest in making investments in multiple sectors in Punjab.

During a meeting with MPs and other leaders from Mianwali and Wazirabad, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said pay orders of Rs 10,000 each had been delivered to the doorsteps of three million people in Ramazan, while 1.5 million people across the province were receiving Rs 3,000 a month each through ration cards.
The prime minister stated that the protection of people’s lives and property is the responsibility of the State.
He said he would not disappoint the farmers of Punjab. He added that many great projects will be launched for the people of the province.
The MPs expressed their gratitude for the launch of the Green Bus project in Mianwali and Wazirabad. They also appreciated the ‘Clean Punjab’ project and pledged to work in unison under his leadership to maintain law and order in the province.
According to a statement, they also paid tribute to him for launching an e-Biz portal to increase business activities in the province, in addition to his initiative to end illegal occupation of private property.
