Armed attackers break into Faisalabad police station and kill detainees, including three brothers

Three brothers were killed and a cousin wounded when unidentified armed assailants stormed a police station in Faisalabad early Monday, police said.

The attack took place at Saddar police station in Tandlaianwala, where they were detained in connection with a murder case.

The victims, Bilal, Usman and Nasir, were booked for their alleged involvement in a case filed under Section 302, police sources confirmed.

The attackers reportedly used a ladder to scale the back of the police station and locked the officers on duty inside their rooms before opening fire on the detainees.

A fourth detainee, identified as Asif, was injured in the attack.

The victims belonged to the Sukhera clan and were accused of killing members of the rival Kharal clan.

Authorities moved them to Saddar police station for security reasons due to an ongoing dispute between the groups.

Police have detained six suspects in connection with the attack, with initial investigations pointing to a long-standing feud as a motive.

The attackers managed to flee the scene after the shooting, leaving local authorities scrambling to secure the area.

Senior police officials, including the Faisalabad city police officer, rushed to the scene after the attack. A Punjab Police spokesperson said investigative teams and CIA units are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.

Two brothers shot dead for “honor”

Two brothers were shot dead in an alleged honor killing on Friday night in Haripur.

According to police, the incident occurred in Sara-i-Naimat Khan, where the attackers, allegedly motivated by family resentment over a love marriage, opened fire and killed the brothers on the spot.

The victims, identified as Azam and Zulfiqar, were residents of Kundal.

Sources revealed that tensions had been brewing for over a month since one of the brothers married a woman of his choice against his family’s wishes.

An earlier confrontation had reportedly involved gunshots from the girlfriend’s family, police said.

The woman’s family had earlier filed a kidnapping case against the slain brothers at the local police station.

However, a reconciliation was achieved with the intervention of local elders and law enforcement.

The night of the attack, eyewitnesses reported that the brothers were returning home on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen ambushed them.

The bodies were taken to a hospital for an autopsy and then handed over to their relatives for burial in their hometown.
