The world’s best streaming services came out in the penultimate month of 2025. With three huge new movies, plus four new and/or returning shows, hitting numerous platforms in the first week of November, there’s plenty of great content to watch this weekend.
In fact, competition has been so fierce that potentially big deals, like Netflix Death by lightningIt didn’t even make the cut, which gives you an idea of how strong this week’s lineup is. So don’t delay any longer – read on to see what’s worth streaming before Monday arrives once again. – Tom Power, Senior Entertainment Reporter
Fantastic Four: Getting Started (Disney+)
Look
The first of November’s new Disney+ movies is, ironically, the last Marvel movie of 2025.
A period piece set in an alternate reality to the MCU (the first live-action film to do so, FYI) The fantastic four: first steps marks the titular team’s first foray into the comic book giant’s ever-expanding film franchise. In it, the iconic quartet faces off against Galactus, a world-devouring cosmic entity bent on kidnapping Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s newborn son for reasons that will become clear when you watch the first episode of Marvel’s Phase 6.

Frankenstein (Netflix)
Look
Yeah frankenstein It’s your most anticipated Netflix release of 2025, you have very good taste. Even better, I’m happy to report that Guillermo Del Toro’s latest offering lives up to our already high expectations.
I’m counting on Jacob Elordi to get an Oscar nomination for his role as The Creature, but the production design of this film (no CGI or AI was used) is basically a character in itself. Every detail is impressive and builds up to make Mary Shelley’s classic gothic novel feel grander and more operatic than ever.
The best part about one of November’s new Netflix movies? How much love is poured into each frame. Del Toro has realized his greatest childhood dream here and, in return, the story exudes hope, not hatred. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
Pluribus (Apple TV)
Look
“The most miserable person in the world must save the world from happiness.” If that’s not a logline that will immediately pique your interest in Apple’s latest sci-fi offering, I don’t know what will.
Well, maybe the fact that Pluribuswhose first two episodes are now available on Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+), was created by Breaking Bad and Better call SaulIt’s Vince Gilligan. Maybe the fact that it stars Rhea Seehorn as a misanthropic author who has to navigate a new status quo when almost all of humanity falls victim to a virus that turns them into carefree individuals on autopilot. And maybe the fact that this narratively multi-genre show goes against the grain in more ways than one.
Basically, consider this one of the best Apple TV shows of 2025, and one you won’t want to fall asleep on because, wow, it’s the kind of series fans will theorize about for months. – T.P.
The Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 (Netflix)
Look
It is a testimony of the Squid Game IP that we are still interested in its gameplay after the main show ended in June. In fact, 456 new players are taking on the challenge of winning $4.56 million and, as expected, the reality show follows in the footsteps of Squid Game season 2.
The squid game: the challenge Season 2 features Mingle, Six-Legged Pentathlon, and Catch from the original show. Meanwhile, two new games, Count and Slides & Ladders, join the rotation.
It means we miss out on classics like Red Light, Green Light (I’m still upset about that), but new twists and turns have also been introduced. Did you know that the dorm has a secret boiler room equipped with a vending machine? It’s about to become Netflix’s worst kept secret. – joint venture
Maxton Hall season 2 (Prime Video)
Look
It’s finally time to return to the private school Maxton Hall in Oxford, England, to see what will happen to the whirlwind romance between the arrogant and entitled James and the quiet scholarship student Ruby in Maxton Hall – The World Between Us season 2.
While the two were initially rivals, they now seem happy together, but how long will that last when James’ family is thrown into turmoil? Will their relationship survive or will Ruby return to her old life?
Adapted from the novel ‘Save Me’ by Mona Kasten, the first three episodes of Maxton Lounge Season 2 is streaming now on Prime Video, and if you loved it The summer I became pretty then you’ll definitely want to tune in. – Amelia Schwanke, entertainment editor
Materialists (HBO Max)
Look
I loved Celine Song’s debut in 2023 Past Livesso I had high hopes for his second A24 romantic drama. Materialists (now available on HBO Max), especially when the filmmaker once again draws inspiration from her own life.
Like Song, Dakota Johnson plays a New York matchmaker who finds herself torn between bachelor Pedro Pascal, whom society considers her perfect match, and his ex (played by Chris Evans), who still has a passion for her.
It’s a classic will they, won’t they story, set against the backdrop of luxurious Manhattan living, interwoven with reflections on modern dating, social expectations, and consumerism. Despite being one of HBO Max’s new standout movies, Materialists received mixed reviews upon its initial release, but that’s all the more reason to watch it for yourself and see if you agree with those sentiments. – AS
Everything’s Fine (Hulu/Disney+)
Look
What do you mean by Ryan Murphy’s new Hulu and Disney+ series? everything is fair has gotten a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes…and what do I mean when I say you still need to see it?
Frankly, this fictional all-female law firm, comprised of Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Teyana Taylor, is the gift that keeps on giving. Imagine Paulson and Close having an impressive fight on either side of a huge conference table. Imagine Kardashian smashing someone’s car with a golf club without showing any emotion at any point in the series. Imagine Watts doing his best to exist amidst the chaos. That’s what I call television magic.
In essence, Murphy has created something to be enjoyed exclusively by the generation that has supported him through the good times (American horror story season 2) and thin (American horror story season 12). It’s a gift of thanks for our tireless passion that has helped Murphy’s 2000s TV empire exist the way it does, and we should be grateful for that. – joint venture
