“No patriot could utter such words about the brave officers and soldiers”

ISLAMABAD:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s comments about security forces sparked a wave of criticism on Friday from the federal government and the provincial governor, who called them “inappropriate and inflammatory.”

In a strongly worded statement, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the Prime Minister’s comments were “factually incorrect” and amounted to an insult to the brave men and women who have laid down their lives for the peace and security of the country.

“No patriot could utter such words about the brave officers and soldiers who have sacrificed everything for the nation,” he said.

He accused the KP CM of trying to “please the eternal enemy” through his comments, adding that the entire nation and the international community recognize the unparalleled sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in restoring peace and stability.

On the other hand, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also denounced the comments.
