24-hour passport counters have been set up at NADRA mega centers across the country.
Pursuant to the orders of Federal Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Passport Department has set up 10 passport processing counters at National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) mega centers in Nazimabad and Siege areas. According to the Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, 24-hour passport processing counters will be expanded throughout the country. The Islamabad office has already been operational 24/7.
Awami Markaz offices in Karachi and Garden Town of Lahore are now open for citizens 24/7. The delay in issuance of passports has been fully addressed, ensuring a smooth and timely process for applicants.
Earlier, the government took this decision to reduce congestion at the central passport office by providing alternative centers for passport services.
The initiative was finalized during the recent visit of Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, to Karachi, where the plan to establish passport offices in NADRA centers was discussed.
Earlier, during a surprise visit to the 24/7 Passport Office at Awami Markaz and NADRA Mega Defense Centre, Naqvi interacted with passport and ID card applicants. He asked about the process and citizens expressed their satisfaction, praising the efficiency of the system.
