Prince William and Kate Middleton have just struck a chord with their British fans through a poem titled Letters from a Battlefield on their Instagram page.
The poem was published on Remembrance Day 2025 and aims to pay tribute to ‘VE Remembrance Day – 80 years on’, which is a remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum.
For those unfamiliar, this poem “celebrates those moments of human connection that carry us through the most difficult times,” according to the Welsh caption.
It is also written and performed by the Arboretum’s resident poet, Arji Manuelpillai.

The King and Queen of England also posted a similar tribute, but theirs was shorter and featured an image of a soldier walking up to a trial, with text on the screen reading: “They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn them. At sundown and in the morning we will remember them.”
