Two terrorists killed as security forces foil suicide attack at Wana Cadet College

ISPR says Fitna al Khwarij once again tried to repeat the barbaric act of terrorism carried out in APS Peshawar

DERA ISMAIL KHAN:

Security forces foiled a terror attack at Cadet College Wana, killing two terrorists and averting a major tragedy reminiscent of the 2014 Army Public School attack in Peshawar.

According to security sources, the terrorists tried to storm the university early in the morning. The attack began with a suicide explosion at the main entrance, wounding 15 civilians and four security personnel. The injured security personnel were identified as Naib Subedar Tabish, Lance Havaldar Shakeel and soldiers Abdullah and Waqas.

Authorities confirmed that security forces responded quickly and attacked the attackers before they could enter the university premises. In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were killed. A clean-up and search operation is currently underway in the surrounding area. Authorities stated that the militants intended to carry out a large-scale assault similar to the Army Public School tragedy, but timely intervention by security forces prevented a major catastrophe.

After the attack, the entire area has been cordoned off. All students and staff members at the cadet school remained safe, authorities confirmed.

Local residents reported heavy gunfire following the explosion, while emergency services rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. Security personnel continue to maintain strict surveillance in the region.

Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations stated that terrorists belonging to Indian representative Fitna al Khwarij attacked Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan district. The attackers attempted to breach the security perimeter; However, their nefarious plans were quickly thwarted by the vigilant and determined response of the troops.

In desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate, causing the main gate to collapse and damage to adjacent infrastructure, the military media wing claimed.

He added that, showing unwavering courage and professional excellence, the troops engaged the intruders with precision, eliminating two Khwarij belonging to the Indian representative, Fitna al Khwarij. However, three Khwarij managed to enter inside the university premises who were cornered in the administrative block of the university, according to the ISPR statement.

“The Khwarij hidden inside the university premises are in touch with their teachers and handlers in Afghanistan and are receiving instructions,” the ISPR added.

He further stated that clearance operations are being carried out to remove the remnants of Indian sponsored kharjis, adding, “We will continue the relentless campaign against terrorism under the “Azm e Istehkam” vision (approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by the Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan and continue at full pace to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”

The blatant act of barbarism orchestrated by Khwarij from Afghanistan contrasts with claims made by the Afghan Taliban regime that there is no presence of these terrorist groups on its territory. Pakistan reserves the right to respond against terrorists and their leaders present in Afghanistan, the ISPR said.

“These Khwarij belonging to the Indian representative, Fitna al Khwarij, have once again attempted to repeat the barbaric act of terrorism carried out by them at Army Public School, Peshawar in 2014,” the ISPR said.

He further stated that the terrorists aimed to instill fear among the young generation of former tribal areas who are acquiring quality education at their doorsteps to excel in life and achieve a better future not only for themselves and their families but also for their communities.
