Luther will be returning to Netflix in one of their upcoming new movies, but the main character isn’t what I’m most excited about.
It’s always great to see Idris Elba on our screens, but I was surprised to see the return of Ruth Wilson as Luther’s nemesis and love interest Alice Morgan, who was listed in the casting announcement.

Longtime Luther fans will know that Alice’s fate has been unknown since season 5 of the original BBC series. She did not appear in the previous Netflix film. Luther: The fallen sun, Nor, many of us assumed she was dead or missing.
But Netflix has thrown us a curveball and we may finally know what happened to Alice after a six-year wait. That’s reason enough to keep my subscription to one of the The best streaming services, if you ask me.
Luther’s second movie needs to tie up some loose ends
Of course, just because someone appears on a cast list doesn’t automatically mean we’ll get the answers we want. So the only question I need answered is simply: Is Alice alive?
If the movie ends just showing us some flashbacks to Luther and Alice’s past, without answering that enormous Ask, I will be disappointed. Even if the answer is no, I think we as fans are owed an explanation for what happened to her character since she was a fan favorite for many.
As a quick refresher, we saw her fall from a scaffold to her apparent death during a confrontation with Luther. Although his body disappeared, leaving his true fate unknown and fans agonizing over what exactly happened there.
Alice was never mentioned in The fallen sun, So the upcoming movie has a real chance to answer some burning questions, allowing us to close Alice’s missing person case for good.
luther In my opinion, it hasn’t been the same without the dynamic between him and Alice, so getting the chance to see more of their complicated relationship would be amazing.
I’m hoping she’s alive, but even if she’s not, I would definitely appreciate a satisfying and definitive ending to her story.
