The Federal Reserve’s rate cut odds for December have fallen to near coin toss levels, indicating growing uncertainty among investors ahead of the Dec. 10 meeting, according to data source CME’s FedWatch tool.
Markets now price in a roughly 52% chance of a 25 basis point cut, down from 95% a month ago and 65% a week ago. A possible cut of 25 basis points would reduce the reference interest rate range to 3.5%-3.75%.
The decreasing probability of the December cut could continue to limit gains for BTC and other cryptocurrencies. At the time of writing, BTC changed hands around $103,000, with trading changing little on the day, according to data from CoinDesk.
