Avengers: Judgment Day could include two characters who have not yet been announced as part of its cast.
Over the weekend (November 15-16), a couple of new rumors circulated online suggesting that DoomsdayThe initial 27-member cast may have grown during its continued development.
Potential major spoilers immediately follow. Avengers: Judgment Day. Come back now if you don’t want surprises to be ruined ahead of time.
The first gossip refers to Thanos, also known as the Big Bad of the Marvel Infinity saga that ran between 2008 and 2019. The Mad Titan, played by Josh Brolin, died in Avengers: Endgamebut it looks like Brolin’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) may not be over.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) Online that was originally published on November 10 but didn’t gain traction until a few days later, Brolin hinted that he would return as Thanos in an upcoming Marvel movie.
“Yes Joe Russo [one of Doomsday‘s directors] comes to me, who maybe has, I don’t know, and has an idea, then I might accept, probably pretty quickly,” Brolin joked.

Now, that doesn’t confirm that Brolin is involved in Avengers: Judgment Day. Likewise, that doesn’t mean he’ll return for another Marvel Phase 6 project, like the sequel to the aforementioned film. Avengers: Secret Wars.
That being said, a Thanos appearance would allow the Russo brothers to recreate one of the most memorable scenes in any Marvel comic. In this incident, which occurs in issue #8 of the 2015 ‘Secret Wars’ comic series, Doctor Doom, in his God Emperor form, kills Thanos by ripping out his spine.
It’s a scene that would be too graphic to show. Doomsdaythat is, a Marvel movie that will likely receive a PG-13/12+ age rating before its release. However, it would sell how powerful Robert Downey Jr’s Doom is if he makes light work of the only supervillain to defeat the Avengers so far in the MCU. Is there any chance we could see a more family friendly version of this scene, Marvel?
Is Tobey Maguire in Avengers: Doomsday?
The other, equally compelling rumor revolves around an appearance by Tobey Maguire. Spider-Man.
According to industry insider DanielRPK (thanks to AvengersUpdated X/Twitter fan account for the announcement), Maguire’s Peter Parker will appear in Avengers 5also.
However, it’s worth taking this speculation with a pinch of salt for now. Sure, Doomsday is the first installment of a two-part story that will end Marvel’s Multiverse saga. So the chances of Maguire’s beloved version of the infamous webslinger appearing in another MCU movie are pretty high.
For me, however, Maguire’s next (and potentially last) outing as a wall-crawler would be more suited to secret wars. Its predecessor should focus on setting up Downey Jr’s Doom as an unstoppable force that, depending on who you ask, will either save or destroy the multiverse. secret wars So it should be about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes teaming up with other heroes from other film franchises, including Maguire’s Spidey, defeating Doom ahead of the MCU’s soft reboot.
But what do you think? Do you want Thanos and/or Maguire’s Spider-Man to appear? Avengers: Judgment Day? Let me know in the comments.
Once you’ve done that, read about when DoomsdayThe first trailer may be released. So, find out everything we know so far about Avengers: Judgment Day.
