- Samsung has partnered with British Gas for a new tariff
- It offers you a 50% discount on electricity between 11 am and 4 pm on weekends.
- You must own or purchase a qualifying Samsung product from a retailer in England, Scotland or Wales.
Thinking about buying a discounted Galaxy smartphone or other Samsung device for Black Friday? Those who own or are purchasing a Samsung product and also work with British Gas in the UK (or register with the energy supplier) can benefit from significant savings on their electricity bill over the weekend.
This comes courtesy of a new tariff called Samsung Weekend Saver Fix, where you get half-price electricity between 11am and 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
It’s an expansion of an existing British Gas tariff called PeakSave which gives a 50% discount on your electricity on Sundays at those times, but with the new tariff in conjunction with Samsung, you also get this on Saturday, doubling your weekend savings.
Well, in theory at least, but obviously it depends on how much electricity you get on those respective days.
So how does this work and what do you need to qualify?
Obviously, you need to be registered with British Gas, or change suppliers, to get one of their rates. Then, to qualify for the Samsung Weekend Saver Fix rate, you must own or purchase an eligible Samsung product within the next year, until October 31, 2026. You also need a smart meter and a Samsung account.
You can claim the Samsung Tariff by logging into that Samsung account and clicking on the link to the British Gas Samsung Tariff page.
Only one fee can be attached to any given Samsung product, and devices that were purchased through an auction site (like eBay) or a third-party seller (on the Amazon marketplace) do not count, so no secondhand or refurbished devices qualify. You must have purchased the product new from a retailer in England, Scotland or Wales (unfortunately excluding Northern Ireland).
For a list of products that are eligible, see Samsung’s listing (where you will also find the full terms and conditions of this offer). Those products include Galaxy phones and tablets, Samsung appliances, televisions, monitors, sound bars and air source heat pumps, among other hardware.
It should be noted that this offer replaces the PeakSave rate, for those who are already subscribed to the latter; Savings are not cumulative (and you cannot combine this rate with other British Gas offers either).
As a final note, those who accept the Samsung tariff before the end of 2025 will be entered into a draw where three winners will be chosen and will receive a payment of £1,755 each (the average cost of utility bills over a year in the UK). That drawing will take place on January 14, 2026. Good luck!
