ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistan and Human Resource Development on Thursday reviewed the implementation of its earlier directives and received progress reports from the Ministry, Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE), FIA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
The agency urged the authorities to open new Protective Offices and complete the E-Protector digitization process.
The meeting was chaired by MP Syed Rafiullah, a statement said.
Regarding the Protective Offices, the acting secretary confirmed that approvals are in process but acknowledged budgetary limitations and logistical delays.
The committee made it clear that such limitations cannot justify further delays and recommended that the new offices become operational during the current financial year.
The committee further recommended that Protector services be closely integrated with NADRA and other e-government platforms to ensure identity verification and reduce dependence on intermediaries.
