- We can expect some new Apple devices in early 2026
- A more affordable MacBook has been mentioned
- The successor to the iPhone 16e is also likely to appear
We’ve already heard that 2026 is likely to be a busy year for Apple product launches, with rumors of a shake-up to the iPhone launch schedule as well, and now we may have a little more clarity on when some of these devices will launch.
According to analyst Jeff Pu of GF Securities (via MacRumors), Apple will launch a cheaper MacBook and iPhone early next year. We’ll also apparently get a 12th-gen iPad around the same time.
It was previously rumored that the cheaper MacBook would put Apple laptops within reach of people with lower budgets. It is believed that the price could be around $599 in the US; The most affordable MacBook you can currently get from Apple is the $999 / £999 / AU$1,599 MacBook Air.
Pu says the new Apple laptop will have a 13-inch display, use the A18 Pro chipset introduced with the 2024 iPhone 16 Pro, and will be available in silver, blue, pink, and yellow, matching previous rumors.
Phones and tablets
As for the most affordable iPhone, it is expected to be the iPhone 17e, following the iPhone 16e that Apple introduced to the world in February 2025. The starting price is again expected to be around $599 / £599 / AU$999.
Pu predicts that many of the specs will remain unchanged, although there will be a faster A19 chipset inside, a Center Stage-compatible 18-megapixel selfie camera that always keeps you in the photo, and a switch to Apple’s new C1 modem. This range of phones was previously known as the iPhone SE series.
There won’t be many surprises with the 12th generation iPad, this report says, which could also be said for the 11th generation iPad. However, it will apparently get a speed boost via an A18 chipset, allowing the entry-level iPad to support Apple Intelligence for the first time.
We’ll likely see more iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks over the course of 2026, but these three devices will apparently lead the way. Of course, we’ll let you know as soon as Apple makes something official.
