- The S26 Ultra could have a 5,200 mAh capacity battery
- It would be a small increase over the 2025 model.
- A previous leak said that the battery capacity would remain the same.
As we get closer and closer to 2026, we’re learning more and more about what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26 series of phones, and the latest rumor on the matter points to an upgrade to battery capacity for the more expensive Ultra model.
According to experienced tipster Momentary Digital (via GSMArena), the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will arrive with a 5,200 mAh battery capacity, which is a modest increase over the 5,000 mAh battery included in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was the sixth consecutive Ultra phone with the same 5,000 mAh battery capacity, since the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020. The rumored increase isn’t huge, but at least it’s something.
There have already been several leaks about the battery specifications for the Galaxy S26 series, and the standard model is also rumored to get a small increase in capacity next year – from 4000 mAh in the current phone to 4300 mAh in the next.
Even better battery life
It remains to be seen what this will actually mean for battery life, but in theory it should mean more time between charges. Of course, multiple factors come into this, including the efficiency of the screen and other components.
In our review of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, we talked about the battery lasting several days between charges, while Samsung’s official rating says you can get 31 hours of video playback on a single battery charge.
Another thing we’ve heard about the Ultra model is that the screen bezels will get even smaller, which would mean the screen size will increase. We may see a screen measuring almost 7 inches from corner to corner.
However, as is always the case with these rumors, nothing is confirmed until Samsung makes it official, which should be in the first two or three months of 2026. A previous leak in August suggested that the Ultra battery capacity would once again be 5,000 mAh.
