Andrew branded a ‘flight risk’ amid UK police investigation

The Metropolitan Police is investigating allegations that Andrew used its officers to dig up dirt on his accuser.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is being urged to hand over his passport to stop him fleeing the country as the Metropolitan Police investigate Virginia Giuffre’s claims.

Royal author Andrew Lownie has branded the disgraced royal a “flight risk” and is urging authorities to confiscate his passport, according to The mirror.

The push comes as the US House Oversight Committee reviews new material from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, reviving questions about Andrew’s long-denied ties to the convicted sex offender.

Lownie, whose book Titled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York examined the prince’s downfall, says the latest email dump leaves little room for doubt.

“This new information is the nail in Prince Andrew’s coffin, highlighting the lies he has told about his association with Jeffrey Epstein,” he told the outlet.

He added that “Andrew needs to be investigated and, as a flight risk, his passport must be surrendered.”

The author went further and suggested that Andrés could follow the path of King Juan Carlos of Spain. “I think there is a good chance that Andrew will avoid potential legal charges if he goes to the Middle East… If the authorities are serious… then his passport should be confiscated.”

These warnings come as the Metropolitan Police investigates emails, phone records and notebooks of Andrew’s former personal protection officers. The review was prompted by allegations that Andrew asked his security team to “dig dirt” on Virginia Giuffre and even passed her her date of birth and social security number in 2011.

According the sunAt least two former Public Prosecution Service prosecutors have already been questioned as the Met assesses whether to move forward with a full investigation.
