- Garmin published (and then released) a new preview
- Your next device points to the ‘future of wearables’
- We could see a strap without a screen or a smart watch
Could we have a new contender for our list of the best Garmin watches before the year is out? It seems so, as Garmin itself has posted a preview of the “future of wearables” on its official Facebook page in India.
It appears the post has since been taken down, but not before Redditor u/Eastern-Signal-1778 discovered it (via GSMArena). We get a look at a new device along with promises that it will be “stylish,” “smart,” and “coming soon.”
At first glance, the wearable device appears to be a screen-less Whoop-style band. There have been previous rumors that Garmin is working on something like this, perhaps called the Garmin Recovery Band, according to those in the know.
In fact, Garmin launched a display-less band in the form of the Index Sleep Monitor in June, but it’s just for sleep tracking and it’s a large strap worn on your upper arm. A device similar to Whoop’s products and the Polar Loop could still be coming.

Further analysis of the image by well-known tipster the5krunner suggests that this is actually a slim smartwatch with a built-in LED light, although it’s unclear which Garmin’s current series the new device might fit into.
Considering that the tagline talks about the “future of wearables”, it would seem that this is not just an iterative update. Whether it’s a smartwatch or a strap without a display, it’s likely to be substantially different from the above.
The Gadgets & Wearables team speculates that this could be a screenless bracelet, a la Whoop, and that the LED light on the side will be used to display a variety of status information, such as the battery level, for example.
Whatever it is, we will know soon. If Garmin is teasing it on social media, albeit a little earlier than supposed, then something interesting is likely coming before we say goodbye to 2025.
