- New details of Meta Quest 4 have been leaked
- We may see a price increase for the Meta Quest 3
- Apparently the Quest naming scheme may be abandoned
We’re big fans of Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, so hopes are high for whatever the follow-up turns out to be, and a few more details about Meta Quest 4 have just leaked (although that may not be what it’s called).
These details come from VR veteran Nima Zeighami (via Android Central) and back up some of the rumors we’ve heard so far. We also get some new details on how much this device will cost you.
According to the leak, the upcoming Meta AR/VR headset will be smaller and lighter, in part due to a separate external “drive” that contains the computing and battery components, something that was previously mentioned. other sources.
Zeighami also backs up what we’ve already heard about the device coming with built-in eye and face tracking and a higher resolution display. Even with that screen increase, it’s not expected to have as high a resolution as the Samsung Galaxy XR, for example.
Cost and denomination
Higher resolution, eye/face tracking and much smaller and clearer on the face with a separate disc, $800. And it won’t be called Quest. That’s the next Meta headset. I’m not sure if the base SKU ships with drivers or not. https://t.co/urM4SBqRicNovember 25, 2025
We also got a pricing tip here: apparently the Meta Quest 4 will cost around $800 in the US. That’s roughly £610/AU$1,230 at the current exchange rate, although Meta is unlikely to use direct currency conversions for its international pricing.
For comparison, the Meta Quest 3 currently costs $499.99 / £469.99 / AU$1,049.99, while the Meta Quest 3S price starts at $299.99 / £289.99 / AU$499.99. We’re seeing a big price increase, and Zeighami isn’t even sure if drivers will be included.
Finally, despite the way we’re referring to the device here, this leak suggests that Meta will adopt a new naming scheme for its next headset and ditch the Quest moniker, although we still have no idea what the new name will be.
We may also have to wait quite a while for the headphones – they’re rumored to launch in 2026 at the earliest. To help pass the time until then, you can read the 5 things we want from the Meta Quest 4 article.
