AWS could now have around 900 data centers, double what was previously thought

  • New data claims Amazon was believed to have more than 900 data centers, and now there could be more
  • We know that it has 38 regions and 120 availability zones.
  • Energy efficiency is above the world average

Newly leaked data suggests Amazon operated more than 900 data centers in 2023 in more than 50 countries, well above previous estimates of around 100 to 475, with a number expected to rise amid strong demand for AI.

The information, reported by SourceMaterialIt says the company had 914-924 data centers two years ago, but rapid expansion since then suggests the total number could now be even higher.
