ISLAMABAD:
The capital’s high court has ordered the Secretary of Defense and the head of the Airport Security Forces (ASF) to present reports on the disappearance of citizen Kashif Hussian, upon his return to the country from Iraq.
A single-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), comprising Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, on Tuesday accepted a petition filed by Hussain’s wife against his alleged kidnapping at Islamabad International Airport.
According to the report submitted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Hussain landed at Islamabad International Airport on an emergency passport after overstaying in Iraq.
Your immigration process ended on December 30, 2024, at 0:34 am. After an initial investigation, Kashif Hussain was allowed to leave the FIA counter. He is not in FIA custody nor is he wanted for arrest.
In a written order, the IHC said it had directed the ASF director general to appoint an officer to investigate the matter and submit a report to the court within ten days.
The court also ordered a review of CCTV footage to determine whether the alleged abductee left the airport after landing or was detained by another agency.
The court also ordered the Ministry of Defense to submit a report on the alleged disappearance within ten days. The hearing of the case was adjourned until January 16.
