NYT Strands Today (Game #639): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 639 are…
- HOP
- HOME
- HUNTER
- WIDOW
- RECLUSE
- TARANTULA
- SPANGRAM: SPIDERS
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
I once had a severe allergic reaction to the bite of a RECLUSE variety of spider during a trip to Venice. This caused my legs to swell and left what looked like big bruises. In Italy they call them violin spiders, which makes them seem pretty talented.
Anyway, I digress. It probably says a lot about our modern age that the first thing I thought of when seeing the topic “on the web” was the Internet, rather than SPIDERS. Even after jumping in, I was thinking “what does that have to do with websites?”
A clue gave me CASA and I was finally on my way, feeling kind of silly after seeing the spangram.
By the way, did you know that a JUMPING spider can jump 50 times its body length? That’s the equivalent of a human jumping to the top of an eight-story building.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Monday, December 1, Game #638)
- ROLLER SKATES
- DISK
- STICKS
- GOALS
- MARKER
- ZAMBONI
- SPANGRAM: HOCKEY COURT
