Mario López, actor and television presenter, spoke about his role in the new film. The Christmas spark.
In conversation with Access HollywoodLopez said, “This was special to me because we were able to pay our respects to the firefighters and first responders, especially since earlier in the year we had devastating fires in Los Angeles.”
The film’s synopsis says that “A forgotten corporate lawyer (Lopez) joins his small town’s Fire Department, where he competes with the son of a fallen hero and finds unexpected sparks with his widowed mother (played by Ali Cobrin).”
He continued, “So I wanted to pay homage to them, and I really felt like we did that along with the more emotional, heartfelt, romantic Christmas story.”
He went on to share his work experience with Cobrin and Charlie Besso, saying, “I loved working with them. They are both talented and great people. I really enjoyed working with them and would love to work with them again.”
Speaking of his own character, he added: “I like that my character was dealing with a lot of emotions (maybe going through a mid-life crisis) as a lawyer who becomes a firefighter, but in the end he finds out what’s really important.”
He also reflected on the lessons he learned from the script, dancing with the stars The artist shared, “It taught me that you are never too old to learn, grow, and try new things.”
